John S. Hone

Attorney Hone has been representing the rights of injured people for 25 years, since his admission to the Michigan bar in 1985. He received his Juris Doctorate from the esteemed Detroit College of Law, then an institution in the great city of Detroit, Michigan. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Michigan State University. There he studied under some of the great Economic minds in the United States including Walter Adams, Laurence Officer, Mendolhson, and others. Ironically, expert economists testifying for either side oftentimes originate from the Michigan State University Economics Department, and taught or were classmates of attorney Hone. Ultimately, our task is to finance a "Life Care Plan" for the permanently injured child. 

The Life Care Plan involves multiple experts to investigate the needs of the child and to arrive at the costs involved. It involves vocational counselors, life care planners and nurse managers, and finally, an ECONOMIST to crunch the numbers.

Attorney Hone has been involved in cases either by admission in the state bar or on an individual pro hac vice basis in the courts of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and other states. He is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan. His participation in other venues is as a result of a local attorney hiring him to handle the case and moving the court to allow his participation pro hac vice. He has taken cases to jury verdict in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Texas, and Tennessee.

So far in the calendar year 2010, John Hone has settled $8,000,000 in cases, including $4,000,000 for the brain injury caused by a stroke to a 55 year old short order cook, after an undiagnosed aneurysm ruptured; and, $2.7 million for the spinal cord injury caused to a laborer on a construction site because of a defective gear cover; and, $450,000 for Erb's Palsy injuries to a child caused by excessive traction by the obstetrician.
